چکیده

Exploiting the mapping between a binary mixture and the Ising model we have analyzed the critical fluctuations by means of the density-matrix renormalization group technique. The calculations have been carried out for a two-dimensional Ising strip subject to equally strong surface fields. It was found that the critical Casimir force has significantly different behavior on opposite sides of the capillary condensation line, especially below the critical temperature. It can be concluded that in real binary mixtures the most attractive force appears at temperatures near and at reservoir compositions slightly away from the critical composition.

Prediction of true critical temperature and pressure of binary hydrocarbon mixtures: A Comparison between the artificial neural networks and the support vector machine

Two main objectives have been considered in this paper: providing a good model to predict the critical temperature and pressure of binary hydrocarbon mixtures, and comparing the efficiency of the artificial neural network algorithms and the support vector regression as two commonly used soft computing methods. In order to have a fair comparison and to achieve the highest efficiency, a comprehen...

Capillary-to-Bulk Crossover of Nonequilibrium Fluctuations in the Free Diffusion of a Near-Critical Binary Liquid Mixture.

We have studied the nonequilibrium fluctuations that occur at the interface between two miscible phases of a near-critical binary mixture during a free-diffusion process. The small-angle static scattered intensity is the superposition of nonequilibrium contributions that are due to capillary waves and to bulk fluctuations. A linearized hydrodynamic description of the fluctuations allows us to i...

Critical Casimir effect in classical binary liquid mixtures.

If a fluctuating medium is confined, the ensuing perturbation of its fluctuation spectrum generates Casimir-like effective forces acting on its confining surfaces. Near a continuous phase transition of such a medium the corresponding order parameter fluctuations occur on all length scales and therefore close to the critical point this effect acquires a universal character, i.e., to a large exte...

Estimation of Binary Infinite Dilute Diffusion Coefficient Using Artificial Neural Network

In this study, the use of the three-layer feed forward neural network has been investigated for estimating of infinite dilute diffusion coefficient ( D12 ) of supercritical fluid (SCF), liquid and gas binary systems. Infinite dilute diffusion coefficient was spotted as a function of critical temperature, critical pressure, critical volume, normal boiling point, molecular volume in normal boilin...

Unsteady Numerical Investigations of Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Nanofluids in a Confined Jet Using Two-Phase Mixture Model

The development of high-performance thermal systems has increased interest in heat transfer enhancement techniques. The application of additives to heat transfer liquids is one of the noticeable effort to enhance heat transfer. In this paper two-dimensional unsteady incompressible nanofluid flow in a confined jet at the laminar flow regime is numerically investigated. The Mixture model is consi...
